Preliminary – TextAid November 2022 (v 4.13.0)

These are the preliminary release notes for the TextAid November 2022 release.

Planned release window: 2023-01-02 – 2023-01-05


New Features and Changes

Exam Mode

This release puts special focus on the Exam mode.

Essay Exams

From this release, it will be possible for students to submit documents authored in the text editor as part of an exam. The document will be converted to a PDF when it is submitted and will show up in the teachers library, under Submitted documents.

Exam Accommodations

The teacher can now choose to allow features when sharing an exam.

The following features can be allowed during exams:

  • Calculator
  • Print button
  • Dictation
  • Check Spelling
  • Translation
  • Dictionary
  • Writing Assistance

The account coordinator can also set the default settings for exam accommodations:

Log Out Users

Coordinators have the option to log out one or more users from the Organization > Manage Users page.

Disconnect OneDrive

The connected OneDrive account can now be unlinked from the library.

All Coordinators can Delete Groups

Previously only root coordinators could delete groups, now all appointed coordinators will be able to do this.


Notable Corrections

Calculator will Add Zero Automatically

Previously, the calculator would display .5 if you pressed dot and five, it will now add the zero automatically so that the display shows 0.5

Calculator will Say ‘Clear’

The C button will now result in the calculator saying ‘Clear’, when speech is enabled.
